All barrettes and chignons are made of manganese bronze. They are hand welded, forged, and polished. I don’t use any anti-tarnish treatments, so there’s nothing to flake off. You can expect them to get a little darker, but they won’t turn green. Brasso will polish them nicely. Hair spray build up can usually be removed with soap and warm water.

July 24 – August 8, 2026

This is the largest SCA event in the world, held in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania. Attendance will likely be about 8000 people. I’m in space #44, on Broadway, which is just west of Penn Market. We are definitely participating in the Camino. Hours are roughly 9-6. Braiding slots fill up fast!
